As with many sports, facts can sometimes be distorted, and false claims amplified, but Ritter & McCoy have written a compelling, verified account of the motley crew who first found their way to this surfing mecca where the jungle meets the sea.

Some of the people who were there are dead, others don’t remember much, and even others have altered the facts to glorify their own involvement.
